“We’re hosting a special tasting Campus Fine Wines tonight, centered around a cocktail inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s typewriter. Well, not literally Ernest Hemingway’s typewriter, but the same model: the Royal Quiet De Luxe. This typewriter is the object at the center of our current window, designed by Katrina Ellis. Hemingway preferred to write his works of art on this machine while standing up, with the Royal De Luxe perched on a bookshelf in his Havana home. Katrina’s window thoughtfully evokes the tropical backdrop of Havana; we call it philotropical
We hope you can stop in and have a taste of The Old Man and the Sea. There’s a good chance it will become your go-to fall cocktail. And perhaps it will inspire you to write that novel! Just don’t delve too far into the Hemingway mystique, it kind of goes all awry. Such is the frequent path of the artistic genius!” – Andrea Sloan, Campus Fine Wines
